Yard Lead
Full Time
$19.00-$25.00/Hour

Job Description & Specifications
The Yard Lead is responsible for overseeing daily yard operations at Novid to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-organized work environment. This position provides hands-on leadership to yard staff, coordinates material handling and logistics activities, and ensures the yard is maintained year-round — including snow clearing, sanding, general upkeep and organization — to support safe and productive operations.
Essential Functions & Duties
- Maintain working knowledge of all delivery equipment
- Diagnose mechanical problems on delivery equipment and repair them if possible
- Maintain Novid’s yard (snow clearing, sanding, spread gravel when required)
- Maintain Organization of yard (Scrap, Coils, Finished Goods, Raw Material etc.)
- Park Tanks
- Coordinate with Logistics on trailers and tanks that need to get loaded
- Coordinate with Logistics on when Flat Decks need to get loaded
- Load tanks in preparation for them to leave when scheduled
- Provide parts for all loads
- Keep all delivery equipment clean and free of debris
- Repair and maintain loading equipment
- Work with the Transport Supervisor and Logistics to communicate any possible delays or significant repairs required on delivery equipment
- Communicate with Supply Chain when parts/supplies are needed
- Unloading Coils (Indoor and Outdoor)
- Unloading Trucks (Outdoors)
- Build shipping and yard cradles
- Bring materials into and out of shops
- Work closely with all other departments
Employment requirements:
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a yard, warehouse or logistics environment
- Lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Proficient in operating forklifts, skid steers and other yard or maintenance equipment
- Ability to perform physical labour and operate equipment in various weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and inventory tracking
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment
- Willingness to learn
- Demonstrates a positive attitude

- Able to lift 50lb

Transport/Maintenance

Job Description & Specifications
Assist the transport team to ensure all Novid vehicles are maintained, and tanks are loaded to leave on time while maintaining a safe, clean work environment.
Essential Functions & Duties
- Daily equipment safety inspections
- Hands on Trailer Maintenance
- Hands on Pilot Truck Maintenance
- Hands on Equipment Maintenance
- Loading Tanks on Novid and Contract carrier trailers
- Assisting production with pulling tanks when needed
- Pick ups and Deliveries for production and transport as required
- Pilot Driving (If required/requested)
- Tank deliveries (if required/requested)
- Complete daily tasks as outlined by the Transport supervisor and Transport Manager
Employment requirements:
- Minimum educational requirement: High school diploma
- Strong mechanical aptitude required
- Class 1 License (preferred)
- Strong focus on quality
- Strong work ethic

4x10 Hour Shifts, Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:00am

- Stainless steel MIG welding
