When it comes to storage tanks, the quality I look for is longevity. Being able to amortize that cost over a long period of time makes stainless steel a great investment compared to mild steel, which has an expiry date.
What I appreciate about a Novid stainless steel tank is that the day it arrives it’s clean and shiny—and five years later, it still looks exactly the same. The build quality is clear. We’ve purchased 40 tanks now, and we haven’t had a single issue. They show up built the way they should be.
The tanks also require virtually no maintenance. Each year we pop the doors off and inspect what’s left at the end of the season. If it needs cleaning, we clean it. If not, we put the door back on and it’s ready to go.

When it comes to tanks, the main quality we look for is how well they can withstand the corrosive properties of fertilizer. In the past, we used soft metal tanks, but they only lasted about seven years. Since switching to stainless steel, we’ve never looked back.

In terms of maintenance, there really isn’t any. All we do is grass-whip or spray weeds around the bottom of the tanks. It’s been a real time-saver.
What we love about stainless steel is that there’s no corrosion inside the tanks. We don’t have buildup in the bottom or the need to go in and clean them out every year or two. We own and operate a family farm of 42,000 acres with our headquarters located near Gallatin Missouri. We have 55 people on staff during our busy season and work with a wide array of suppliers.
We decided to change how we incorporate nutrients for our crops. We worked closely with Agro Liquid who are a very large and reputable nutrient supplier. They mentioned that they’d purchased some stainless steel tanks from Novid up in Canada and that they were very happy with the product and service Novid provided.
We did some of our own research including contacting several other tank manufacturers closer to us that make stainless as well as fiber glass tanks. We found out that Novid has been manufacturing stainless liquid storage for over 20 years and that they have a great reputation.
